BV-Clar 500mg tablet contains Clarithromycin (500mg). It comes as a tablet. The pack contains 10 tablet.

Clarithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic used when a broad-acting oral antibiotic is needed. It is also one of the medicines combined in stomach ulcer treatment.

Uses of BV-Clar 500mg tablet

BV-Clar 500mg tablet is used for:

  • Chest infections, bronchitis and pneumonia
  • Throat, tonsil and sinus infections
  • Skin and soft tissue infections
  • As part of combination therapy to clear H. pylori stomach infection

Side Effects

Like all medicines, BV-Clar 500mg tablet can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common ones include:

  • Bitter or metallic taste in the mouth
  • Nausea and stomach upset
  • Diarrhoea
  • Headache

Tell your doctor if a side effect is severe or does not go away.

Precautions

Clarithromycin interacts with a long list of other medicines, including some cholesterol and heart medicines, so give your doctor a full list of everything you take, including supplements. Tell your doctor if you have a heart rhythm problem. Finish the whole course even once you feel better.

How to Use

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, as directed on the pack. Keep out of the reach of children and do not use after the expiry date.
