Campto 100mg injection contains Irinotecan (100mg). It comes as an injection. The pack contains 1 vial x 5ml injection.

Irinotecan is a chemotherapy medicine given by drip that stops cancer cells from copying their DNA.

Uses of Campto 100mg injection

Campto 100mg injection is used for:

  • Bowel (colorectal) cancer
  • Pancreatic cancer, in some combinations

Side Effects

Like all medicines, Campto 100mg injection can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common ones include:

  • Diarrhoea, which can be severe
  • Low blood counts
  • Nausea
  • Hair loss

Tell your doctor if a side effect is severe or does not go away.

Precautions

It is given only by a cancer team. Contact the team at once for diarrhoea, fever or signs of infection. Avoid pregnancy during treatment.

Tell your doctor about any other medicines or supplements you take, any allergies, and if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.
