Dowcoxia 60mg Tablet containing 60mg of etoricoxib. It belongs to the class of medications known as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
Dowcoxia tablets contain etoricoxib as the active ingredient. Etoricoxib works by inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), which is involved in the production of prostaglandins. By reducing the levels of prostaglandins, etoricoxib helps to decrease inflammation, pain, and swelling.
Dowcoxia tablets are commonly used to relieve pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and gouty arthritis. They may also be prescribed for the short-term management of acute pain, such as that following dental procedures or musculoskeletal injuries.
Common side effects of Dowcoxia may include headache, dizziness, gastrointestinal discomfort (such as stomach pain, indigestion, or diarrhea), and edema (swelling). More serious side effects may include gastrointestinal bleeding, cardiovascular events (such as heart attack or stroke), and liver or kidney problems.
It is important to take Dowcoxia tablets exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider and to avoid exceeding the recommended dosage. Long-term use of NSAIDs may increase the risk of adverse cardiovascular events, gastrointestinal bleeding, and kidney damage. Therefore, Dowcoxia should be used at the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary to control symptoms.
When Not to Use:
Dowcoxia tablets should not be used in individuals with a known hypersensitivity or allergy to etoricoxib or any other NSAIDs. They are also contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcers, severe heart failure, or severe hepatic or renal impairment.
