Overview
FML-NEO 0.1% / 0.35% Drops contains Fluorometholone + Neomycin 0.1%, a steroid and antibiotic eye drop. Made by Barrett Hodgson Pakistan Ltd, it is prescribed for eye inflammation with bacterial infection, conjunctivitis and inflammation after eye surgery. Pack size: 5ml drops.
Uses of FML-NEO 0.1% / 0.35% Drops
FML-NEO 0.1% / 0.35% Drops eye drops are used for inflammatory conditions of the front of the eye where a bacterial infection is present or likely, such as some types of conjunctivitis, inflammation of the eyelids, and inflammation after eye surgery or injury. They should be used only when prescribed by a doctor who has examined the eye, and only for the time advised.
How FML-NEO 0.1% / 0.35% Drops works
Fluorometholone is a corticosteroid that reduces swelling, redness and irritation in the eye. Neomycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that kills many bacteria by stopping them from making the proteins they need. Together they control inflammation while treating or preventing infection.
Possible side effects
After putting in FML-NEO 0.1% / 0.35% Drops, you may notice:
- Brief stinging or burning
- Temporarily blurred vision
- Eye irritation or itching
- Watery eyes
See a doctor urgently if you develop eye pain, worsening redness, sensitivity to light, or any loss or change of vision, or if the eyelids become swollen and itchy.
Precautions and warnings
- Use it only for as long as prescribed, as long-term steroid eye drops can raise eye pressure, cause cataracts and make the eye more prone to infection.
- Do not use it for viral or fungal eye infections, such as herpes infection of the eye, unless an eye doctor advises it.
- Remove contact lenses before use and avoid wearing them during treatment unless advised otherwise.
- Do not let the dropper tip touch the eye or any surface, and leave at least five minutes between different eye drops.
- Blurred vision after use can affect driving, so wait until your sight clears, and ask your doctor first if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Storage
Store below 30°C, away from direct sunlight. Keep the bottle tightly closed and do not use it after the expiry date or the period stated on the label once opened. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children.
