Jectosol Plus Injection contains Ferrous Fumarate, an iron supplement used to treat or prevent iron deficiency anemia. Iron is a crucial mineral for the production of hemoglobin, a component of red blood cells that carries oxygen throughout the body. Jectosol Plus Injection is typically administered when oral iron supplements are not effective or feasible, providing a rapid increase in iron levels.
Common side effects of Jectosol Plus Injection may include pain or irritation at the injection site, nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, and dark-colored stools. Rare but serious side effects include allergic reactions (such as rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, and trouble breathing) and severe gastrointestinal issues. Immediate medical attention is required if any serious side effects occur.
Avoid using Jectosol Plus Injection if you have:
Jectosol Plus Injection is administered intramuscularly or intravenously by a healthcare professional in a clinical setting. The dosage and frequency depend on the severity of the iron deficiency and the patient’s overall health condition.
Improvements in symptoms of iron deficiency anemia, such as fatigue and weakness, can be noticed within a few days to a couple of weeks after starting treatment. Full correction of iron levels may take several weeks to months, depending on the initial severity of the deficiency.
There are no specific dietary restrictions associated with Jectosol Plus Injection. However, maintaining a balanced diet rich in iron-containing foods (such as red meat, beans, lentils, and fortified cereals) can help improve iron levels and overall health.
Jectosol Plus Injection can be used in children, but the dosage and administration should be carefully determined and monitored by a pediatrician or healthcare professional.
If you miss a scheduled dose, contact your healthcare provider as soon as possible to reschedule. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one, as this can increase the risk of side effects.
