What Lice-o-Nil cream Is Used For

Your doctor may prescribe Lice-o-Nil cream for:

  • Head lice
  • Scabies

Side Effects of Lice-o-Nil cream

Not everyone gets side effects. Those reported include:

  • Skin irritation or itching
  • Burning or stinging
  • Rash
  • Dry skin

Get medical help straight away for signs of a serious reaction, such as swelling of the face or throat, difficulty breathing or a severe rash.

Before You Use Lice-o-Nil cream

  • It should not be used on premature babies or people with uncontrolled epilepsy, and extra caution is needed for babies, children, older people and anyone with low body weight.
  • Apply it once only as directed and do not reapply, even if itching continues, as scabies itch can last for weeks after the mites are killed.
  • Do not use it on broken, raw or inflamed skin or straight after a hot bath, as more of the medicine is absorbed.
  • Keep it away from the eyes, mouth and nose, and wear gloves when applying it to someone else.
  • Avoid it during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless a doctor confirms there is no suitable alternative.

Storage

Keep in a cool place below 30°C, away from direct sunlight, and close the cap after use. Keep out of the reach of children.
