Ispaghula husk (psyllium, isabgol) is a natural bulk-forming fibre. It absorbs water in the gut to form a soft gel that makes stools bulkier and easier to pass.

  • People with diabetes should be aware that fibre can affect blood sugar after meals, and some flavoured products contain sugar.
  • See a doctor if constipation lasts more than a few days despite treatment, or if you notice blood in your stools or a lasting change in bowel habit.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place below 30°C in the original pack. Do not use after the expiry date, and keep all medicines away from children.
