Medilact D 1000ml is a balanced intravenous fluid (compound sodium lactate) from Otsuka Pakistan Ltd. It contains Ringer's Lactate.

What Medilact D 1000ml Is Used For

Side Effects of Medilact D 1000ml

  • Pain or redness at the drip site
  • Irritation along the vein
  • Swelling of the hands or ankles
  • Mild changes in blood salt levels

Get medical help straight away for signs of a serious reaction, such as swelling of the face or throat, difficulty breathing or a severe rash.

Before You Use Medilact D 1000ml

  • It is given in hospital or a clinic by trained staff, who will monitor your fluid balance and blood tests.
  • Tell the team if you have heart failure, kidney disease, liver disease or high potassium levels.
  • Because it contains calcium, it is not given through the same line as certain medicines such as ceftriaxone, or with blood transfusions.
  • Tell the team about any allergies and all other medicines you take.
  • Let them know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place below 30°C in the original pack. Do not use after the expiry date, and keep all medicines away from children.
