Overview

Mydropic 1% drops contains Tropicamide (1%). It comes as an eye drop. The pack contains 15ml drops.

Tropicamide eye drops widen (dilate) the pupil for a short time so that the doctor can examine the back of the eye.

Uses of Mydropic 1% drops

Mydropic 1% drops is used for:

  • Eye examinations that need a dilated pupil
  • Some eye procedures, as decided by the eye doctor

Side Effects

Like all medicines, Mydropic 1% drops can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common ones include:

  • Stinging when the drops go in
  • Blurred vision and sensitivity to light for a few hours

Tell your doctor if a side effect is severe or does not go away.

Precautions

Do not drive until your vision is clear again. Tell your doctor if you have glaucoma or a history of raised eye pressure. Wear sunglasses in bright light after use.

Tell your doctor about any other medicines or supplements you take, any allergies, and if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.

How to Use

Wash your hands first. Tilt your head back, gently pull down the lower eyelid and put the number of drops your doctor advised into the eye, then close the eye for a minute. Use it exactly as you were told. Read the leaflet inside the pack before you start.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, as directed on the pack. Keep out of the reach of children and do not use after the expiry date.
