Active Ingredient

By blocking estrogen production, letrozole helps reduce estrogen levels in the body, which can slow down or stop the growth of hormone-sensitive breast cancer cells.

Uses

Neuletroz 2.5mg Tablet is used for the following purposes:

  1. Breast Cancer: It is indicated for the adjuvant treatment of hormone receptor-positive early breast cancer in postmenopausal women who have received prior standard adjuvant tamoxifen therapy.
  2. Advanced Breast Cancer: Letrozole may be prescribed for the treatment of advanced or metastatic breast cancer in postmenopausal women who have experienced disease progression following antiestrogen therapy.

Mechanism of Action

Letrozole exerts its pharmacological effects by selectively inhibiting the aromatase enzyme, which is responsible for the conversion of androgens (such as testosterone) to estrogens (such as estradiol). By blocking estrogen production, letrozole reduces estrogen levels in the body, which can inhibit the growth of hormone-sensitive breast cancer cells.

Administration

Neuletroz 2.5mg Tablet is usually taken orally, once daily, with or without food, as directed by a healthcare professional.
