Solopred 1% drops contains Prednisolone (1%). It is an eye medicine.

Uses of Solopred 1% drops

Solopred 1% drops is used for:

  • Eye inflammation
  • Allergic eye inflammation and inflammation after eye surgery

Side Effects

Common side effects of Solopred 1% drops include:

  • Brief stinging or blurred vision after use
  • Mild eye irritation

Long or repeated use of steroid eye drops can raise the pressure in the eye or cause cataract, so use them only for as long as your doctor advises and go for check-ups if treatment is long.

Precautions

  • Do not use it for a red or painful eye that has not been checked by a doctor, as steroid drops can make some eye infections worse.
  • Do not stop suddenly after long use; your doctor may lower the dose slowly.
  • Remove soft contact lenses before use.
  • Do not let the tip of the bottle touch the eye or any other surface, to keep it clean.
  • If you use more than one eye medicine, wait at least 5 minutes between them.

Tell your doctor about any other medicines you use, any allergies, and if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

How to Use

Wash your hands first. Tilt your head back, gently pull down the lower eyelid and put the number of drops your doctor advised into the eye, then close the eye for a minute. Use it exactly as you were told. Read the leaflet inside the pack before you start.

Storage

Store as directed on the pack, away from heat and direct sunlight. Throw the bottle away after the time printed on the label once it is opened. Keep out of the reach of children.
