Overview
Xenecor 10mg Tablet contains the active ingredient Rosuvastatin. It belongs to a class of medications known as statins, which are used to lower cholesterol levels in the blood. Rosuvastatin works by inhibiting an enzyme in the liver that plays a key role in the production of cholesterol.
Uses
- Lowering cholesterol: Xenecor 10mg Tablet is prescribed to reduce elevated levels of total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol (“bad” cholesterol), triglycerides, and to increase HDL cholesterol (“good” cholesterol) in the blood.
- Cardiovascular health: By lowering cholesterol levels, Rosuvastatin helps to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attack, stroke, and coronary artery disease.
- Prevention of atherosclerosis: Rosuvastatin may also be used to slow down or prevent the buildup of plaque in the arteries (atherosclerosis), which can lead to narrowing and blockages.
Side Effects

Precautions

- Let your doctor know about all other medications you are taking, including prescription, over-the-counter, or herbal supplements, as some drugs may interact with Rosuvastatin, increasing the risk of side effects.
- Report any unexplained muscle pain, weakness, or tenderness to your doctor promptly, as these may be signs of a rare but serious side effect called rhabdomyolysis.
- Avoid excessive alcohol consumption while taking Xenecor Tablet, as it may increase the risk of liver problems.
When Not to Use
Avoid using Xenecor 10mg Tablet if:
- You have a known allergy to Rosuvastatin or any other ingredients in the tablet.
- You are currently taking medications that may interact with Rosuvastatin, such as certain antibiotics, antifungals, or medications that affect heart rhythm.
- You have active liver disease or unexplained increases in liver enzymes without consulting your healthcare provider.
