Alfa D 0.25mcg tablet contains Alfacalcidol, an active form of vitamin D. It is used when the body needs vitamin D that is already activated, such as in kidney or parathyroid conditions.

Uses:

1. Vitamin D Disorders: It is used for low calcium and bone problems linked to kidney disease, hypoparathyroidism, and certain types of rickets and osteomalacia.
2. Bone Health: It helps the body absorb calcium to support bone strength.

Side Effects: Possible effects relate to raised calcium, such as nausea, weakness, or increased thirst, so calcium levels are monitored.

When Not to Use:

1. High Blood Calcium: Do not use if you have hypercalcaemia.
