Uses

  1. Bacterial Infections: Cipval Tablet is indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections, including:
    • Respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia, bronchitis, and sinusitis.
    • Urinary tract infections including cystitis, pyelonephritis, and prostatitis.
    • Skin and soft tissue infections such as cellulitis, abscesses, and wound infections.
    • Bone and joint infections.
    • Gastrointestinal infections such as infectious diarrhea.
    • Sexually transmitted infections such as gonorrhea and chlamydia.

Mechanism of Action

Ciprofloxacin works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV enzymes, which are essential for DNA replication, transcription, and repair in bacteria. By interfering with these enzymes, ciprofloxacin disrupts bacterial DNA synthesis and leads to bacterial cell death.

Dosage and Administration
