Erli Plus 12.5/850mg Tablets is a combination medicine that contains Empagliflozin and Metformin. It comes as a tablet.

This medicine combines 2 diabetes medicines that work in different ways. Empagliflozin is an SGLT2 inhibitor that removes extra sugar through the urine; Metformin lowers the amount of sugar the liver releases and helps the body use insulin.

Uses of Erli Plus 12.5/850mg Tablets

Erli Plus 12.5/850mg Tablets is used for:

  • Type 2 diabetes in adults, with diet and exercise
  • When one diabetes medicine alone does not control blood sugar

Side Effects

Like all medicines, Erli Plus 12.5/850mg Tablets can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common ones include:

  • Nausea, diarrhoea or stomach upset, mostly at the start
  • Metallic taste
  • Genital thrush or urine infections
  • Passing more urine

Tell your doctor if a side effect is severe or does not go away, and get urgent help for signs of an allergic reaction such as swelling of the face, wheezing or a widespread rash.

Precautions

Your kidney function will be checked. It may need to be stopped for a short time before surgery or scans that use contrast dye. Avoid heavy drinking. Drink enough fluids and keep the genital area clean. Get help at once for nausea, vomiting, tummy pain or fast breathing, which can be signs of ketoacidosis.

Tell your doctor about any other medicines or supplements you take, any allergies, and if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.

How to Use

Take Erli Plus 12.5/850mg Tablets exactly as your doctor or pharmacist tells you. Swallow it with a glass of water. Do not change the dose or stop taking it on your own. Read the leaflet inside the pack before you start.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, as directed on the pack. Keep out of the reach of children and do not use after the expiry date.
