Empator M 5mg /500mg Tablets is a combination medicine that contains Empagliflozin and Metformin. It comes as a tablet.
This medicine combines 2 diabetes medicines that work in different ways. Empagliflozin is an SGLT2 inhibitor that removes extra sugar through the urine; Metformin lowers the amount of sugar the liver releases and helps the body use insulin.

Side Effects
Like all medicines, Empator M 5mg /500mg Tablets can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common ones include:
- Nausea, diarrhoea or stomach upset, mostly at the start
- Metallic taste
- Genital thrush or urine infections
- Passing more urine
Tell your doctor if a side effect is severe or does not go away, and get urgent help for signs of an allergic reaction such as swelling of the face, wheezing or a widespread rash.
Precautions
Your kidney function will be checked. It may need to be stopped for a short time before surgery or scans that use contrast dye. Avoid heavy drinking. Drink enough fluids and keep the genital area clean. Get help at once for nausea, vomiting, tummy pain or fast breathing, which can be signs of ketoacidosis.
