This medicine combines 2 diabetes medicines that work in different ways. Empagliflozin is an SGLT2 inhibitor that removes extra sugar through the urine; Linagliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor that helps the body release more insulin after meals.

Uses of Erlina 5/25mg Tablet 14s

Erlina 5/25mg Tablet 14s is used for:

  • Type 2 diabetes in adults, with diet and exercise
  • When one diabetes medicine alone does not control blood sugar

Side Effects

Like all medicines, Erlina 5/25mg Tablet 14s can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common ones include:

  • Genital thrush or urine infections
  • Passing more urine
  • Headache
  • Stuffy nose or sore throat

Tell your doctor if a side effect is severe or does not go away, and get urgent help for signs of an allergic reaction such as swelling of the face, wheezing or a widespread rash.

Precautions

Drink enough fluids and keep the genital area clean. Get help at once for nausea, vomiting, tummy pain or fast breathing, which can be signs of ketoacidosis. Get help for severe, lasting tummy pain, which may be pancreatitis.

Tell your doctor about any other medicines or supplements you take, any allergies, and if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.

How to Use

Take Erlina 5/25mg Tablet 14s exactly as your doctor or pharmacist tells you. Swallow it with a glass of water. Do not change the dose or stop taking it on your own. Read the leaflet inside the pack before you start.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, as directed on the pack. Keep out of the reach of children and do not use after the expiry date.
