Overview
Gavel Syrup 125ml contains Ciprofloxacin (125ml). It comes as a syrup.
Ciprofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic effective against a wide range of bacteria. It comes as tablets, infusion, eye drops and ear drops.
Uses of Gavel Syrup 125ml
Gavel Syrup 125ml is used for:
- Urinary tract and kidney infections
- Typhoid and some gut infections
- Skin, bone and joint infections
- Eye and ear infections, in drop form
Side Effects
Like all medicines, Gavel Syrup 125ml can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common ones include:
- Nausea and loose motions
- Headache or dizziness
- Difficulty sleeping
- Uncommonly, tendon pain or swelling
Tell your doctor if a side effect is severe or does not go away.
Precautions
Keep a gap of at least two hours between ciprofloxacin and any antacid, milk, or iron and calcium supplement, otherwise much less of the medicine is absorbed. Your skin may burn more easily in the sun. Contact your doctor if you develop tendon pain or any numbness and tingling.
Tell your doctor about any other medicines or supplements you take, any allergies, and if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.
How to Use
Use Gavel Syrup 125ml exactly as your doctor or pharmacist tells you. Shake the bottle well if the label says so, and measure each dose with the cup or spoon that comes with the pack, not a kitchen spoon. Read the leaflet inside the pack before you start.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, as directed on the pack. Keep out of the reach of children and do not use after the expiry date.
