Niazox 100mg Syrup contains Nitazoxanide (100mg). It comes as a syrup.

Nitazoxanide is an antiparasitic and antidiarrhoeal medicine. It is used for diarrhoea caused by certain parasites and protozoa.

Uses of Niazox 100mg Syrup

Niazox 100mg Syrup is used for:

  • Diarrhoea caused by Giardia and Cryptosporidium
  • Some other parasitic gut infections

Side Effects

Like all medicines, Niazox 100mg Syrup can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common ones include:

  • Stomach pain
  • Nausea
  • Headache
  • Yellow discolouration of urine (harmless)

Tell your doctor if a side effect is severe or does not go away.

Precautions

Take nitazoxanide with food. It turns the urine a yellowish colour, which is harmless. Finish the course as prescribed. See a doctor if diarrhoea is severe, bloody, or comes with high fever or signs of dehydration, which need proper assessment.

Tell your doctor about any other medicines or supplements you take, any allergies, and if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.

How to Use

Use Niazox 100mg Syrup exactly as your doctor or pharmacist tells you. Shake the bottle well if the label says so, and measure each dose with the cup or spoon that comes with the pack, not a kitchen spoon. Read the leaflet inside the pack before you start.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, as directed on the pack. Keep out of the reach of children and do not use after the expiry date.
