Uses

  1. Depression: Nodep 5mg Tablet is prescribed for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD), a mood disorder characterized by persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and loss of interest or pleasure in activities.
  2. Anxiety Disorders: It may also be used to treat various anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), social anxiety disorder (SAD), panic disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

Mechanism of Action

Escitalopram works by selectively inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin, a neurotransmitter involved in regulating mood, emotions, and anxiety. By increasing serotonin levels in the brain, Escitalopram helps alleviate symptoms of depression and anxiety.

Dosage and Administration

When Not to Use

Nodep 5mg Tablet should not be used in patients with a known hypersensitivity to Escitalopram or any of its components. It is also contraindicated in patients taking MAOIs or pimozide due to the risk of drug interactions.
