Overview
Nordette 28 0.15mg/0.03mg tablet is a combination medicine that contains Levonorgestrel and Ethinylestradiol. It comes as a tablet.
This combined oral contraceptive pill contains two female hormones that stop the release of an egg each month.
Uses of Nordette 28 0.15mg/0.03mg tablet
Nordette 28 0.15mg/0.03mg tablet is used for:
- Preventing pregnancy
- Helping to regulate periods, as advised by a doctor
Side Effects
Like all medicines, Nordette 28 0.15mg/0.03mg tablet can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common ones include:
- Nausea
- Headache
- Breast tenderness
- Spotting between periods
Tell your doctor if a side effect is severe or does not go away, and get urgent help for signs of an allergic reaction such as swelling of the face, wheezing or a widespread rash.
Precautions
It is not suitable for women who smoke and are over 35, or who have had blood clots, certain migraines, a stroke or breast cancer. Some medicines, such as rifampicin and some epilepsy medicines, make it less effective. It does not protect against sexually transmitted infections.
Tell your doctor about any other medicines or supplements you take, any allergies, and if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.
How to Use
Take Nordette 28 0.15mg/0.03mg tablet exactly as your doctor or pharmacist tells you. Swallow it with a glass of water. Do not change the dose or stop taking it on your own. Read the leaflet inside the pack before you start.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, as directed on the pack. Keep out of the reach of children and do not use after the expiry date.
