Overview

Onseget 4mg/2ml Injection contains the active ingredient ondansetron, which belongs to a class of medications known as antiemetics. It is a clear, colorless liquid solution for injection.

Uses

  • Prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy or radiation therapy for cancer treatment.
  • Prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting after surgery.

Side Effects

Common side effects may include headache, constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, or fatigue. Rare but serious side effects may include allergic reactions, irregular heartbeat, serotonin syndrome, or seizures.

Precautions

  • Inform your doctor about any allergies you have, especially to ondansetron or other medications.
  • Inform your doctor about any other medications you are taking, including prescription, over-the-counter, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
  • Use caution when driving or operating machinery as ondansetron may cause drowsiness or dizziness.
  • Avoid alcohol while taking ondansetron as it may increase the risk of side effects.

When Not to Use

Do not use Onseget 4mg/2ml Injection if you are allergic to ondansetron or any other ingredients in the injection. It should also be avoided in patients with a history of QT prolongation or certain heart rhythm disorders.
