Overview
Pamaryl plus 1mg/500mg tablet is a combination medicine that contains Glimepiride and Metformin. It comes as a tablet.
This medicine combines 2 diabetes medicines that work in different ways. Glimepiride is a sulfonylurea that prompts the pancreas to release more insulin; Metformin lowers the amount of sugar the liver releases and helps the body use insulin.

Side Effects
Like all medicines, Pamaryl plus 1mg/500mg tablet can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common ones include:
- Nausea, diarrhoea or stomach upset, mostly at the start
- Metallic taste
- Low blood sugar (sweating, shaking, hunger)
Tell your doctor if a side effect is severe or does not go away, and get urgent help for signs of an allergic reaction such as swelling of the face, wheezing or a widespread rash.
Precautions
Your kidney function will be checked. It may need to be stopped for a short time before surgery or scans that use contrast dye. Avoid heavy drinking. Learn the signs of low blood sugar and keep something sugary with you.
