Overview

Plasenzyme tablet is a combination of a prokinetic, digestive enzymes and an anti-gas agent from Pacific Pharma. Its active ingredients are Metoclopramide and Simethicone. Pack: 3 x 10 tablets.

Metoclopramide: Metoclopramide relieves nausea and vomiting and helps the stomach empty. Simethicone: Simethicone is an anti-foaming agent.

Get medical help straight away for signs of a serious reaction, such as swelling of the face or throat, difficulty breathing or a severe rash.

Before You Use Plasenzyme tablet

  • Use Plasenzyme Tablet only for the short period your doctor recommends, as longer use of metoclopramide increases the risk of movement disorders that may be permanent.
  • Do not take it if you have a blockage, bleeding or perforation of the stomach or bowel, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease or a tumour of the adrenal gland (phaeochromocytoma).
  • It is generally not given to children and young people unless a specialist advises it, and should be used with care in older adults.
  • Metoclopramide can cause drowsiness; avoid alcohol and do not drive if affected. Tell your doctor if you take antipsychotics, antidepressants or medicines for Parkinson’s disease.
  • Pancreatin is usually obtained from pigs; ask your pharmacist if this is a concern. Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only on medical advice.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place below 30°C in the original pack. Do not use after the expiry date, and keep all medicines away from children.
