Before You Use Quinvaxem

  • Quinvaxem is given by a trained healthcare professional according to the national vaccination schedule, and all doses should be completed for full protection.
  • Tell the vaccinator if your child has had a severe reaction to a previous dose or any vaccine ingredient, or a brain or nerve problem after an earlier vaccine.
  • Vaccination is usually postponed if the child has a high fever on the day, but a mild cold is not normally a reason to delay.
  • Mention any bleeding disorder or weakened immune system.
  • The vaccine must be stored in a refrigerator between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius and must never be frozen.

Storage

Store as directed on the carton, protected from light. Some injections need a fridge, so check the label. Never freeze unless the label says so, and keep out of the reach of children.
