Treptin 50mg tablet contains Trelagliptin, a once-weekly DPP-4 inhibitor. It is used to help control blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes.

Uses

  1. Type 2 Diabetes Control: Treptin lowers blood glucose and is taken just once a week for convenience.
  2. Added to Other Treatment: It may be used with diet, exercise, and other diabetes medicines as prescribed.

Side Effects

Common side effects include low blood sugar when combined with other diabetes medicines, stomach upset, or cold-like symptoms.

When Not to Use

  1. Type 1 Diabetes or Ketoacidosis: Not suitable for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
  2. Severe Kidney Disease: The dose may need adjustment or it may be unsuitable.
  3. Hypersensitivity: Avoid if allergic to Trelagliptin.

Take Treptin once a week on the same day as prescribed. Continue your diet, exercise, and blood sugar monitoring. Tell your doctor about all other medicines you take.
