Uropyrine 100mg tablet contains Phenazopyridine (100mg). It comes as a tablet. The pack contains 30 tablet.

Phenazopyridine is a urinary pain reliever. It soothes the lining of the bladder and urinary tract.

Uses of Uropyrine 100mg tablet

Uropyrine 100mg tablet is used for:

  • Short-term relief of pain, burning and urgency when passing urine
  • Discomfort from urinary tract infections, together with an antibiotic

Side Effects

Like all medicines, Uropyrine 100mg tablet can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common ones include:

  • Orange or red urine (harmless)
  • Headache
  • Upset stomach

Tell your doctor if a side effect is severe or does not go away.

Precautions

It relieves symptoms but does not treat infection, so an antibiotic may also be needed. It is used for a short time only. It can stain contact lenses and clothes. Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems or G6PD deficiency.

Tell your doctor about any other medicines or supplements you take, any allergies, and if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.

How to Use

Take Uropyrine 100mg tablet exactly as your doctor or pharmacist tells you. Swallow it with a glass of water. Do not change the dose or stop taking it on your own. Read the leaflet inside the pack before you start.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, as directed on the pack. Keep out of the reach of children and do not use after the expiry date.
