Uses of Urso 250mg Capsules
Urso 250mg Capsules is used for:
- Dissolving small cholesterol gallstones
- Primary biliary cholangitis
- Cholestasis of pregnancy, on obstetric advice
- Some other liver and bile duct conditions
Side Effects
Like all medicines, Urso 250mg Capsules can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common ones include:
- Loose motions
- Nausea
- Abdominal discomfort
- Itching early in treatment
Tell your doctor if a side effect is severe or does not go away.
Precautions
Dissolving gallstones is slow, often taking many months, and works only for small stones of the right type, so an ultrasound guides whether it is worth trying. Liver blood tests are monitored. It does not help stones that are calcified or where the gallbladder is not working. Severe pain in the upper abdomen with fever or jaundice needs urgent assessment.
Tell your doctor about any other medicines or supplements you take, any allergies, and if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.
How to Use
Take Urso 250mg Capsules exactly as your doctor or pharmacist tells you. Swallow it with a glass of water. Do not change the dose or stop taking it on your own. Read the leaflet inside the pack before you start.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, as directed on the pack. Keep out of the reach of children and do not use after the expiry date.
