Overview

Valmo 5/80mg Tablet is a combination medication containing two active ingredients: Amlodipine, Valsartan. It is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) by addressing different aspects of blood pressure regulation.

Active Ingredients

  • Amlodipine: A calcium channel blocker that relaxes and widens blood vessels, improving blood flow and lowering blood pressure.
  • Valsartan: An angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that blocks the action of angiotensin II, a substance that constricts blood vessels, leading to decreased blood pressure.

Uses

Valmo 5/80mg Tablet is indicated for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) in patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy.

Mechanism of Action

  • Amlodipine inhibits calcium influx into vascular smooth muscle cells, leading to vasodilation and reduced peripheral vascular resistance.
  • Valsartan blocks the vasoconstrictor and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II, resulting in vasodilation and decreased blood pressure.

Administration

Take Valmo 5/80mg Tablet orally with or without food, as directed by your healthcare provider. Follow the prescribed dosage and frequency of administration.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Valmo 5/80mg Tablet may include dizziness, headache, fatigue, edema (swelling), and flushing. Contact your healthcare provider if you experience any severe or persistent side effects.
