Vemlidy 25mg Tablet contains the active ingredient Tenofovir Disoproxil, which belongs to a class of medications known as nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs). It is prescribed for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older. Tenofovir Disoproxil works by blocking the activity of reverse transcriptase, an enzyme essential for the replication of HBV. This helps to reduce HBV viral load, improve liver function, and decrease the risk of liver-related complications.

Uses

  1. Chronic Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) Infection: Vemlidy 25mg Tablet is indicated for the treatment of chronic HBV infection. It helps to suppress HBV replication, reduce liver inflammation, and prevent the progression of liver disease, including cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer).

Side Effects

While Vemlidy 25mg Tablet is generally well-tolerated, it may cause side effects in some individuals. Common side effects associated with Tenofovir Disoproxil include:

  • Nausea and Vomiting: Some patients may experience nausea and vomiting, particularly at the beginning of treatment. Taking the medication with food can help alleviate these symptoms.
