Victoza Inj 6mg/3ml injection contains Liraglutide. It comes as a injection.

Liraglutide is a GLP-1 medicine given by injection under the skin. It is used for type 2 diabetes and, in some cases, for weight management.

Uses of Victoza Inj 6mg/3ml injection

Victoza Inj 6mg/3ml injection is used for:

  • Type 2 diabetes in adults
  • Weight management, alongside diet and activity, in certain cases

Side Effects

Like all medicines, Victoza Inj 6mg/3ml injection can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common ones include:

  • Nausea, especially at first
  • Loose motions or constipation
  • Reduced appetite

Tell your doctor if a side effect is severe or does not go away.

Precautions

Nausea is common when starting and usually settles as the dose is increased slowly. Tell your doctor at once about severe, lasting stomach pain, as inflammation of the pancreas has been reported. It is injected under the skin, and the injection site is rotated each time.

Tell your doctor about any other medicines or supplements you take, any allergies, and if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.

How to Use

Victoza Inj 6mg/3ml injection is given as an injection by a doctor or nurse, or by you only if you have been shown how to do it. Follow the instructions you were given and read the leaflet. Read the leaflet inside the pack before you start.

Storage

Store as directed on the pack. Some injections need to be kept in a fridge, so check the label. Keep out of the reach of children and do not use after the expiry date.
