Apiban 2.5mg Tablet contains Apixaban as its active ingredient. Apixaban is classified as an anticoagulant or a blood thinner. It is used to reduce the risk of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation, as well as to treat and prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE).
Anticoagulant: Apixaban works by inhibiting factor Xa, which is involved in the coagulation cascade. By blocking factor Xa, Apixaban helps to prevent the formation of blood clots.
Oral Administration: Apiban 2.5mg Tablet is taken orally, usually with or without food, as directed by your healthcare provider.
Fixed Dose: It is typically prescribed at a fixed dose without the need for routine monitoring of coagulation parameters such as prothrombin time (PT) or international normalized ratio (INR).
Nonvalvular Atrial Fibrillation: Apiban 2.5mg Tablet is indicated for reducing the risk of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (AF) who have one or more risk factors for stroke.
Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) and Pulmonary Embolism (PE): It is also used for the treatment and prevention of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE) following initial therapy.
