Azithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic known for its short treatment courses, often just three to five days, because it stays active in the body for several days.

Like all medicines, Azit Suspension 15ml can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common ones include:
Tell your doctor if a side effect is severe or does not go away.
Complete the full course even though it is short. Tell your doctor if you have a known heart rhythm problem or are taking medicines for the heart, as azithromycin can affect the heart’s electrical rhythm in some people. Antacids should not be taken at the same time as the dose.
Tell your doctor about any other medicines or supplements you take, any allergies, and if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Use Azit Suspension 15ml exactly as your doctor or pharmacist tells you. Shake the bottle well if the label says so, and measure each dose with the cup or spoon that comes with the pack, not a kitchen spoon. Read the leaflet inside the pack before you start.
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, as directed on the pack. Keep out of the reach of children and do not use after the expiry date.
