Co Valtec 160/25mg 28s is a combination medicine that contains Valsartan and Hydrochlorothiazide. It comes as a tablet. The pack contains 28 tablets in a pack.

This medicine combines 2 blood pressure medicines in one tablet. Hydrochlorothiazide is a water tablet (thiazide diuretic) that helps the kidneys remove extra salt and water; Valsartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels. Together they lower blood pressure more than either one alone.

Side Effects

Like all medicines, Co Valtec 160/25mg 28s can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common ones include:

  • Dizziness or light-headedness, especially when standing up
  • Headache
  • Tiredness
  • Passing urine more often

Tell your doctor if a side effect is severe or does not go away, and get urgent help for signs of an allergic reaction such as swelling of the face, wheezing or a widespread rash.

Precautions

Do not take it if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy. Tell your doctor if you have gout, diabetes or kidney or liver problems. Your doctor may check your kidney function and blood salts such as potassium. Stand up slowly if you feel dizzy.
