Loperamide slows down the bowel to reduce diarrhoea. It gives quick, short-term relief of loose, frequent stools.

Uses of Diastop 2mg capsule

Diastop 2mg capsule is used for:

Side Effects

Like all medicines, Diastop 2mg capsule can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common ones include:

  • Constipation
  • Bloating
  • Stomach cramps

Tell your doctor if a side effect is severe or does not go away.

Precautions

Replacing lost fluids and salts is the most important step in diarrhoea. Do not use loperamide if there is blood in the stool or a high fever, and see a doctor in those cases. Do not exceed the amount on the pack, and see a doctor if diarrhoea lasts more than a couple of days.

Tell your doctor about any other medicines or supplements you take, any allergies, and if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.

How to Use

Take Diastop 2mg capsule exactly as your doctor or pharmacist tells you. Swallow it with a glass of water. Do not change the dose or stop taking it on your own. Read the leaflet inside the pack before you start.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, as directed on the pack. Keep out of the reach of children and do not use after the expiry date.
