This medicine combines cyproterone, an anti-androgen, with ethinylestradiol, an oestrogen. It also works as a contraceptive.

Uses of Divestra 2mg/35mcg tablet

Divestra 2mg/35mcg tablet is used for:

  • Moderate to severe acne related to hormones in women
  • Excess hair growth (hirsutism) in women

Side Effects

Like all medicines, Divestra 2mg/35mcg tablet can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common ones include:

  • Nausea
  • Headache
  • Breast tenderness
  • Mood changes

Tell your doctor if a side effect is severe or does not go away, and get urgent help for signs of an allergic reaction such as swelling of the face, wheezing or a widespread rash.

Precautions

It increases the risk of blood clots and is not suitable for women who have had a clot, smoke and are over 35, or have certain migraines. It should not be taken with another hormonal contraceptive. Stop it once skin symptoms have settled, as your doctor advises.

Tell your doctor about any other medicines or supplements you take, any allergies, and if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.

How to Use

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, as directed on the pack. Keep out of the reach of children and do not use after the expiry date.
