Gempid 600mg tablet contains Gemfibrozil, a lipid-lowering medicine of the fibrate group. It is used to lower high levels of fats in the blood.
Uses
- High Triglycerides: Gempid lowers raised triglycerides and can help reduce the risk of pancreatitis.
- Cholesterol Balance: It can raise good (HDL) cholesterol and improve the overall lipid profile.
Side Effects
Common side effects include indigestion, stomach pain, nausea, or diarrhoea.
When Not to Use
- Liver or Gallbladder Disease: Avoid in significant liver disease or gallstones.
- Severe Kidney Disease: Use with caution and medical advice.
- With Statins: Tell your doctor, as the combination needs care due to muscle effects.
Take about 30 minutes before meals as prescribed. Continue a healthy diet and exercise. Your doctor may check your lipids and liver from time to time.
