The active ingredient is Isophane Insulin. It replaces or supplements the body’s insulin to move sugar into cells. This targeted action is what makes it effective for its approved uses.
Always take it exactly as your doctor prescribes. The right amount depends on your age, condition and response, so never increase, reduce or stop it on your own. If you are unsure, check the leaflet or ask your pharmacist.
Like all medicines, it may cause side effects in some people, such as low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia), weight gain or injection-site reactions. These are often mild and settle on their own, but seek medical advice if any are severe or persistent.
