Overview

Misar-AM 40mg/10mg tablet is a combination medicine that contains Telmisartan and Amlodipine. It comes as a tablet.

This medicine combines 2 blood pressure medicines in one tablet. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that widens blood vessels; Telmisartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels. Together they lower blood pressure more than either one alone.

Uses of Misar-AM 40mg/10mg tablet

Misar-AM 40mg/10mg tablet is used for:

  • High blood pressure that is not controlled by one medicine alone
  • Replacing the same medicines taken as separate tablets

Side Effects

Like all medicines, Misar-AM 40mg/10mg tablet can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common ones include:

  • Dizziness or light-headedness, especially when standing up
  • Headache
  • Tiredness
  • Swollen ankles

Tell your doctor if a side effect is severe or does not go away, and get urgent help for signs of an allergic reaction such as swelling of the face, wheezing or a widespread rash.

Precautions

Do not take it if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy. Your doctor may check your kidney function and blood salts such as potassium. Stand up slowly if you feel dizzy.

How to Use

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, as directed on the pack. Keep out of the reach of children and do not use after the expiry date.
