Nivaquin-P Tablet
Nivaquin-P Tablet is mainly prescribed for treating and, in some cases, preventing malaria. Your doctor may also recommend it for related conditions, but you should use it only for the purpose it was prescribed.
Used correctly, it clears the malaria parasite when the full course is taken.
The active ingredient is Chloroquine Phosphate. It kills the malaria parasites in the blood. This targeted action is what makes it effective for its approved uses.
Always take it exactly as your doctor prescribes. The right amount depends on your age, condition and response, so never increase, reduce or stop it on your own. If you are unsure, check the leaflet or ask your pharmacist.
Like all medicines, it may cause side effects in some people, such as nausea, headache, dizziness or stomach upset. These are often mild and settle on their own, but seek medical advice if any are severe or persistent.
Complete the full course; tell your doctor about heart-rhythm problems. Tell your doctor about your full medical history, allergies and any other medicines or supplements you take. Use only under medical supervision in pregnancy.
