Overview

Rifazol Junior is a fixed-dose combination of rifampicin, isoniazid and pyrazinamide for children with tuberculosis.

What Rifazol Junior Is Used For

  • Treatment of tuberculosis in children (intensive phase), as part of a TB programme

Side Effects

Not everyone gets side effects, but some people may notice:

  • Orange-red urine, sweat and tears (harmless)
  • Nausea and loss of appetite
  • Joint pain
  • Liver problems (rare but serious)

Get medical help straight away for signs of a serious allergic reaction, such as swelling of the face, difficulty breathing or a widespread rash.

Before You Use Rifazol Junior

  • Use only under a doctor's supervision and complete the full course.
  • Report yellow eyes or skin, dark urine or vomiting straight away.
  • Rifampicin interacts with many medicines and stains soft contact lenses.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place below 30°C. Keep sachets sealed until use and protect them from moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
