Overview
Sabsar 24mg+26mg Tablet contains two active ingredients: Sacubitril & Valsartan. It is used to treat heart failure and reduce the risk of hospitalization for heart failure in patients with chronic heart failure (NYHA class II-IV) and reduced ejection fraction.
Description
Sabsar 24mg+26mg Tablet combines Sacubitril, a neprilysin inhibitor, with Valsartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). This combination medication helps improve heart function by increasing levels of beneficial peptides and blocking the effects of harmful substances in the body.
Uses
- Heart Failure: Sabsar 24mg+26mg Tablet is indicated for the treatment of symptomatic chronic heart failure in patients with reduced ejection fraction to improve symptoms and reduce the risk of cardiovascular death and hospitalization.
Side Effects
Common side effects of Sabsar 24mg+26mg Tablet may include hypotension (low blood pressure), hyperkalemia (high potassium levels), dizziness, cough, and renal impairment. Some patients may experience angioedema (swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat) or symptomatic hypotension.
Precautions
- Sabsar 24mg+26mg Tablet should not be used during pregnancy, as it may cause harm to the developing fetus.
- It should be used with caution in patients with renal impairment, as Sacubitril/Valsartan may increase the risk of kidney problems.
- Patients should avoid concomitant use of Sabsar with ACE inhibitors or aliskiren, as it may increase the risk of angioedema, hypotension, and renal impairment.
When Not to Use
Sabsar 24mg+26mg Tablet is contraindicated in patients with a history of angioedema related to previous ACE inhibitor or ARB therapy, hereditary angioedema, or severe hepatic impairment. It should not be used concomitantly with ACE inhibitors or within 36 hours of switching from or to an ACE inhibitor therapy.
