Sofvel 400/100 mg tablet is a combination medicine that contains Sofosbuvir and Velpatasvir. It comes as a tablet.

This antiviral combines two medicines that stop the hepatitis C virus from copying itself. It works against all main types (genotypes) of hepatitis C.

Uses of Sofvel 400/100 mg tablet

Sofvel 400/100 mg tablet is used for:

  • Chronic hepatitis C infection, all genotypes

Side Effects

Like all medicines, Sofvel 400/100 mg tablet can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common ones include:

  • Headache
  • Tiredness
  • Nausea
  • Trouble sleeping

Tell your doctor if a side effect is severe or does not go away, and get urgent help for signs of an allergic reaction such as swelling of the face, wheezing or a widespread rash.

Precautions

You should be tested for hepatitis B before starting, as it can flare up. Do not take it with amiodarone. Antacids and acid-reducing medicines can lower its effect, so tell your doctor about everything you take. Complete the full course.

How to Use

Take Sofvel 400/100 mg tablet exactly as your doctor or pharmacist tells you. Swallow it with a glass of water. Do not change the dose or stop taking it on your own. Read the leaflet inside the pack before you start.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, as directed on the pack. Keep out of the reach of children and do not use after the expiry date.
