Uses

  1. Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH): Urivent 0.4mg Capsule is primarily used for the treatment of BPH, a non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate gland that can cause urinary problems like weak urine stream, difficulty starting urination, frequent urination, and a feeling of incomplete bladder emptying.

Side Effects

Tamsulosin HCl can cause side effects, although not everyone experiences them. Some common side effects of Urivent 0.4mg Capsule include:

  1. Dizziness: Feeling lightheaded or unsteady.
  2. Headache: Pain or discomfort in the head.
  3. Runny Nose: Excessive production of clear fluid from the nose.
  4. Abnormal Ejaculation: Changes in ejaculation, including reduced semen volume or retrograde ejaculation (semen entering the bladder instead of exiting through the penis).
  5. Orthostatic Hypotension: A sudden drop in blood pressure upon standing, leading to dizziness or fainting.

While these side effects are common, they are usually mild and transient, resolving as the body adjusts to the medication. However, if any of these symptoms persist or worsen, inform your doctor.

In some cases, individuals may experience more severe side effects, such as:

  1. Priapism: A painful and prolonged erection that lasts for several hours, requiring immediate medical attention to prevent complications.
  2. Allergic Reactions: Rarely, some people may experience allergic reactions to Tamsulosin, characterized by symptoms like rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, or difficulty breathing. Seek immediate medical help if you experience any signs of an allergic reaction.
