Overview

Zamoclav 875 mg / 125 mg tablet is a combination medicine that contains Amoxicillin and Clavulanic Acid. It comes as a tablet. The pack contains 6 tablet.

Co-amoxiclav combines amoxicillin, a penicillin antibiotic, with clavulanic acid, which stops some bacteria from breaking amoxicillin down. This lets it work against more types of bacteria.

Uses of Zamoclav 875 mg / 125 mg tablet

Zamoclav 875 mg / 125 mg tablet is used for:

  • Chest infections and pneumonia
  • Ear, nose, throat and sinus infections
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Skin infections, dental infections and animal bites

Side Effects

Like all medicines, Zamoclav 875 mg / 125 mg tablet can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common ones include:

  • Diarrhoea
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Thrush (fungal infection)
  • Skin rash

Tell your doctor if a side effect is severe or does not go away, and get urgent help for signs of an allergic reaction such as swelling of the face, wheezing or a widespread rash.

Precautions

Do not take it if you are allergic to penicillin. Tell your doctor if you have had liver problems or jaundice with this medicine before, or if you have kidney problems. Taking it at the start of a meal can reduce stomach upset. Finish the full course, and report severe or bloody diarrhoea straight away.

Tell your doctor about any other medicines or supplements you take, any allergies, and if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.

How to Use

Take Zamoclav 875 mg / 125 mg tablet exactly as your doctor or pharmacist tells you. Swallow it with a glass of water. Do not change the dose or stop taking it on your own. Read the leaflet inside the pack before you start.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, as directed on the pack. Keep out of the reach of children and do not use after the expiry date.
