Empagliflozin: Empagliflozin is an SGLT2 inhibitor. Linagliptin: Linagliptin is an oral medicine for type 2 diabetes from the DPP-4 inhibitor group. Metformin: Metformin is the usual first-choice medicine for type 2 diabetes.

Side Effects of Diajard Forte XR 10/5/1000mg Tablets

Not everyone gets side effects. Those reported include:

  • Genital yeast infections
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Nausea or diarrhoea
  • Passing more urine and feeling thirsty
  • Low blood sugar when used with insulin or a sulfonylurea

Before You Use Diajard Forte XR 10/5/1000mg Tablets

  • Take it with meals, drink enough fluids, and tell your doctor if you are unwell with vomiting or diarrhoea or are not eating, as it may need to be paused.
  • Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease, heart failure or a history of pancreatitis, and inform the hospital before surgery or scans with contrast dye.
  • Avoid heavy drinking, as alcohol increases the risk of lactic acidosis and low blood sugar.
  • It is not used for type 1 diabetes and should not be taken in pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
  • Keep the genital area clean and dry, and continue regular blood sugar, kidney and eye checks.

Storage

Keep the tablets or capsules in the original strip or bottle, below 30°C and away from moisture and sunlight. Keep out of the reach of children.
