Overview
Glempa M 12.5/500mg tablet contains two active ingredients, Empagliflozin and Metformin. It is used to control blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes.
Uses
- Type 2 Diabetes Control: Glempa M lowers blood glucose when diet and exercise alone are not enough.
- Dual Action: Metformin reduces glucose production and improves insulin sensitivity, while empagliflozin removes excess sugar through the urine and may support weight and heart health.
Side Effects
Common side effects include urinary or genital infections, increased urination, nausea, and diarrhoea. A metallic taste can occur with metformin, and low blood sugar is possible when combined with other diabetes medicines.
When Not to Use
- Severe Kidney Impairment: Do not use if your kidney function is significantly reduced.
- Type 1 Diabetes or Ketoacidosis: It is not suitable for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
- Hypersensitivity: Avoid if you are allergic to either ingredient.
Take Glempa M with food as prescribed, stay well hydrated, and monitor your blood sugar. Tell your doctor before any surgery or if you become unwell, dehydrated, or develop an infection.
