Moxef 400mg Tablet contains the active ingredient Moxifloxacin, which belongs to the class of medications known as fluoroquinolone antibiotics. It is used to treat various bacterial infections.

Uses:

Moxef 400mg Tablet is primarily prescribed for the treatment of the following bacterial infections:

• Respiratory Tract Infections: Including sinusitis, bronchitis, and pneumonia.
• Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: Such as cellulitis and abscesses.
• Intra-abdominal Infections: Including peritonitis and abscesses.
• Sexually Transmitted Infections: Such as gonorrhea and pelvic inflammatory disease (PID).
• Eye Infections: Including bacterial conjunctivitis and corneal ulcers.

Mechanism of Action:

Moxifloxacin works by inhibiting the bacterial enzyme DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, which are essential for DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination. By interfering with these processes, Moxifloxacin prevents bacterial growth and proliferation, ultimately leading to bacterial death.

Administration:

Take the tablet orally, with a full glass of water, as directed by your healthcare provider. It can be taken with or without food. Follow the prescribed dosage and duration of treatment.
